I trust the Folks who run the Archive in San Francisco as well as Shane from The Video Cellar. This film has been in the Archive for years and I got a content ID match for some music but not the film itself. Who knows what the story is with this film, there are several versions which tells me that it is indeed a PD film. If it were not PD I would have gotten a strike from YouTube. That did not happen. It is a really dumb B Movie as is that Lynn Bari film 'Trauma' from 1962!

With the exception of Lynn Bari who had a long career and was extremely beautiful, she rarely got leading lady roles in A List films. The Actors in 'The Brain That Wouldn't Die' were all unknowns except for this film.

Something must have happened in 1962 as these films were placed in the Public Domain. Perhaps because they are such dreck nobody cared about them and knew they would never get distribution for either again. That is the only thing I can think of!!

I know about Music Copyrights as I am a musician but I know very little about Moving Images Copyright Law in the US or the EU. That is why I tend to upload films from The Video Cellar. They have attorneys and so does the Archive and if they have a question, they definitely find out. Except for Community where nothing is in the Public Domain until it is moved to Feature Films. all that the Archive and The Video Cellar have are indeed in the Public Domain.

Thanks, and I hope I shed some light about the film to the best of my ability!
